The Filipino
Women's Network, a California-based organization, announced their list of 100 Most
Influential Filipina Women in the U.S. Several are from our Washington, DC area. For

A few are from the Washington DC area:
Tessie Alarcon -- a community leader par excellence, she is executive
director of Feed the Hungry, an organization that has gained stellar reputation in helping
out the poor in the Philippines. Her annual trips to the Philippines are joined by numeous
volunteers who make it to areas in dire need of assistance. She was a former PAFC Board
Member and chair of numerous committees.
Lottie T. Buhain -- Chair, Feed the Hungry, Inc., she travels every
year to the Philippines to help in the implementation of FtH programs. She was former
member of the board of Philippine American Foundation for Charities and many times chair
of the annual Gala Ball.
Lovette Rosales Llantos -- we all remember Lovette, formerly of
Virginia and now living in Hawaii. She has been a top notch realtor and still is. Her
leadership in fundraising for charity, civic projects and promoting her culture, or simply
doing the best she can, has made her a key mover in the community. She was president and
chair of the board of Philippine American Foundation for Charities.
Carmen Lagdameo Stull -- Board Member, Circles Board, Kennedy Center;
President Elect, NSO Women's Club, Kennedy Center President & Chair of the Board, GW
Hospital Women's Board, and at one time chair of the Philippinne American Foundation for
Charities' Filipiniana Fair and Gala Ball.

- NOVEMBER 14 -- Dr. Jose Rizal Youth Awards: Now on its 17th year
of continuing support for Filipino American students, The Philippine American Foundation
for Charities, Inc. with the support of the Philippine Embassy invites you to submit your
nominations for the Dr. Jose Rizal Youth Awards. These Awards offer recognition to
deserving Filipino American students in the Washington DC area.
The awards ceremony
will be held on November 14, 2009 in the Romulo Hall of the Philippine Embassy in
Washington DC.
