for Adding an Event or Announcement
Important Notes:
- Our Calendar and Announcements are integrated into our forum. Hence, you must be
registered to our forum first before you can post your announcement or calendar
event. If you're already a member of the forum, please log in and then enter your
event.
- Events and Announcements must be for the DC metro area only or made by an individual or
organization local in the DC area.
- All rules and guidelines of the
dcPinoy Discussion Forum apply to the Calendar, so please be mindful of this before you
enter an event. Please read our Forum
Policies first before registering.
- First determine whether your community item belongs in the Calendar or in the Community
Announcement.
Below is a quick look at our forum page. It depicts the links where you read or
add announcements or events.

Adding an Event to the
Community Calendar
Our calendar provides an online view of what's happening in the community.
Once you click the link that takes you to the calendar as shown in the image above, you
will find an image to the top left above the calendar preceding the current month listed.
That is the Add New Event icon. There is also a text link on the bottom left corner
below the calendar that says New Event.
To add a new event, click on either to get the menu. Make sure you double check the date, month, and year before
clicking the Add New Event button to add your event. If you make a mistake, you can
go into the event and edit it.
Below is a sample view of the month overview. If you click on any of the entries,
you will see what the event is all about.

Opening a Calendar Event
As shown in the image above, just click on the event and it will open the details page.
If there are multiple events for that day and you want to see them all on a single
page, then click on the Date link (e.g., click on "27" for events for the
27th of November).
Who Can Update Calendar Events?
Event entries can only be updated or modified by the person who entered the information.
If not, please contact us and we will make
the corrections.

to Reach the Community
Adding an announcement to the Community Announcements forum is straightforward.
Just click on the link below for the Community Forum, click on New Topic, and then you key
in the information.
