Washington DC Metropolitan Area

Below are facts and figures about the Fil-Am population per Tito Jon Melegrito of NaFFAA Washington DC.

-------------------------------

... Re the 2000 census, Fairfax county has surpassed PG county in terms of Filipino population and growth.

PG county only grew by 33% in ten years, from 7,162 to 9,546 while Fairfax grew by 80%, from 7,674 to 13,825. This confirms what you described as dispersal to other counties in the region.

Still, a significantly large concentration of Filipinos is in the Ft. Washington/Oxon Hill area (2,837), surpassing Arlington's 2,388.

Surprisingly, the largest number is in Chesapeake (Virginia) with 2,637.
